Today Cassidy Grigg is still a hero to me

Many may remember after the Columbine shooting, Katie Couric's interview with one of the victim's parents as well as a classmate became a sort of familiar interview, often aired during anniversaries and such. This week Colorado became victim of another school shooting. Naturally some awaited the first interview from a Platte Canyon Student. Cassidy Grigg became that student. He was on all the news shows yesterday, along with his parents talking about his feelings on what happened, how he was dealing with the loss of a good friend, and how he dealt with the shooter taking over his classroom. According to Cassidy he told the shooter he wouldn't leave the room, was forced to by gun, but was able to stop another girl from going in the classroom. One thing struck me as odd during this interview. The mother said she was immediately concerned over her middle school age daughter, feeling she was in danger. She then stated that after praying for her safety she had a strong feeling it was not her daughter that was in danger but her son, she just knew this guy was in her son Cassidy's classroom. OK HOLD UP.. Why was she not immediately worried about her sons safety? The shooter was in the high school not the middle school. AND CONTINUE Meredith Viera ended the interview telling Cassidy he was a hero.

I then listened to the radio, the dj's were criticizing Cassidy for becoming a media whore. I must say it didn't seem odd to me this kid was on all the shows. He is a high school kid, who maybe isn't getting attention. I mean his mom was worried first about a child who wasn't a student at the school. (can someone clear up, maybe she was at the highschool for some reason) The media vultures found him, gave him his moment of fame.

Cut to today. I began my morning ritual by turning on The Today Show. My draw dropped when the anchors stated they have learned Cassidy was not in the classroom, and had made the story up. Someone said he was distraught and made up everything based on what he wishes he could have done to save his friend Emily. They then showed Cassidy apologizing for lying and hoping he could be forgiven. Meredith said she felt bad for Cassidy, Matt Lauer said in a way he feels bad but it another he feels it is DISPICABLE...

Despicable? Are we really going to come down on this boy? YOU are the MEDIA, YOU are supposed to check out the stories. YOU are despicable. How dare YOU blame this kid. Yes he lied, yes he has been called out on it, but YOU the MEDIA, are at fault. How dare YOU make such issue about it, and not say WE should have checked in to the story. The face of Cassidy was the face of this tragedy, made by YOU the media. Today you toss him aside and make him trash. Can someone tell me aside from the media issue, how it is the parents didn't know what his class schedule was? Parents should know where their kids are, whether they are at school or not, so perhaps that is despicable. Where was the teacher at? Where is the teacher now? I want to know that the teacher was not the first out the door, that would be despicable. What is the most despicable? The fact that this man came into a school, entered a classroom and shot a child. That is the most despicable. So what Cassidy wasn't in the classroom? You created him and you have now destroyed him. Yesterday he was a hero to you, today he is a hero to me.

Don't ya think

Alanis Morissette may have lyrics to a followup to her hit song Ironic. (yes I know what irony is..) Recently the Pope speaks of Muslims and evil when quoting an emperor from the 14th century. What do the Muslims do in protest? Riot, kill a nun, oh just your usual non-evil things.. Isn't it ironic, don't ya think?

Mexican President Vincente Fox recently made comments about the high crime rate in the US. Of course it has nothing to do with all the ILLEGAL Mexican immigrants in our country. Just a few days before in Colorado a woman's body was found mangled after being drug down a road, the man behind the wheel, an ILLEGAL Mexican immigrant.. How about sex crimes in the US? According to World Net Daily a recent study shows there are "about 240,000 illegal immigrant sex offenders in the US""the highest number of sex offenders came from Mexico". Hmmmm Isn't it ironic, don't ya think?

Clinton a bully?

Gosh there is just so much I would like to take about today.. but lets start with our friend Billy Clinton aka former President Clinton. Most of you have probably already seen the video clip from Clinton's interview with Fox News Sunday night. I think I could actually hear the tiny cheers of the left when I stepped outside. How very sad and pathetic..

First of all we are nearing November, of course the oh so picked on Clinton is going to rebel against the Fair and Balanced news show, to rally the sheep. Then in what brought me back to fights with my mother as a teenager, he with much moxie, makes reference to the reporters "smirk". You know that's just not nice.. it was evident to most that this guy is simply stuck with a permagrin from recent botox injections.. way to pick on the misfortunate Billy.

I am also confused as to a few of the other statements that came out of former President Clintons mouth. Ok he "tried and failed to catch Bin Ladin", and if he were still President he would have more than "20,000 troops to try and kill him". Is this coming from a man whose entire party is against us having troops over seas? Oh but if you read the book by Richard Clark you will know all the answers to all your questions regarding Clintons part or the lack of part in our fight against terror. Way to throw the plug in buddy.. The dems failed admit it.

So basically I must say I am no much impressed by Clintons interview, didn't really think it was the end of the world. What did the viewers expect? A sloppy kiss at the end of the interview. Its election time people RELAX.. This isn't the first time we have seen a rally cry (and by cry I mean cry like a baby tempertantrum) like this and it won't be the last.

Tragedy in Montreal

I remember watching the Columbine tragedy unfold. I was at work watching on tv. My bosses stood next to me and I remember having to walk out of the room to gain my composure, the tears wouldn't stop. I had no immediate connection to Columbine, but I felt such pain. I think as much as there was no immediate connection everyone felt some kind of connection.
Since Columbine we have seen, I would say at least one copycat tragedy a year around the states. Last week Canada had their own copy cat. A man went into a Montreal College and began shooting students. I wanted to write an entry but just didn't know what to say accept for I am sorry, which doesn't seem good enough. I would like to share an entry with you however from Canada. Please visit Jorge's space and read more on what happened. Some of you have actually gone through this before and your feelings and views on the situation would be greatly appreciated there.

Women with cojones??

Or just no brains.. I had to giggle a bit when I read the MSNBC.com headline The ‘crossed legs’ strike
Wives of Colombia gang members call sex strike against crime
. Yup tis true, a group of wives and girlfriends, according to the article, of Columbian Gangsta's have banned together to protest the criminal activities of their men. No sex for you! Wow... good luck to ya sister. I wonder if these nice young men give a crap if their chicks say no?? What do you think? Perhaps these ladies are future guests of the psycho womens radio network talked about here earlier today.

Men vs Women

A new study shows men are more intelligent than women. In related news, women from this study have now formed their own talk show.

Tivo a must

My friend called me on Monday or Tuesday in disbelief. While getting ready for work she caught a bit of The View, with bridesmaid and honored guest Rosie O'. I have been searching the net trying to find what exactly caused her disgust. I am a bit confused why I have yet to find anything aside from a few blogs talking about Rosie and her odd home remedy suggestion. Perhaps it would help if I tell you what happened.

Evidently the girls and it, were talking about Brad Pitts diaper rash dilemma. Well Brad's baby's diaper rash dilemma. Rosie shared with the world that she has used on all of her adopted children a must try remedy. Got your pen and paper? You will want to take notes. Take your cranky red butted baby and turn a puppies tongue loose on his behind. Yes, Rosie allows a dog to lick her babies butt. Am I the only one that thinks this chick has more than one screw loose?? Very sick and disturbing... Anyone want to call CPS on this one?

Bush Assassination

No, this is not the title of Ron Jeremy's new flick, and yet it is much more tacky. Death of a President is a film debuted in Toronto(ah lovely US envious Canada). Big deal right? The movie features a US president being assassinated, isn't the first movie to do such a thing probably not the last. So what makes this flick so nauseating? The president they choose to assassinate is our current President, President Bush. Now children can't we play nice?? I would say someone is crossing a tiny line here. You can mark this film up as one I won't be seeing. In fact it shouldn't be played in the U.S. Freedom of Speech my arss.

It has given me an idea though.. I would like to make my own film. I will be hosting a casting call, and will request my dear production savvy friends over at Galacticast, to assist. (Yeah I know they will be busy watch the previously mentioned film). The plot... Brad and Angelina decide to forget their all powerful threat of not marrying until "every other couple who wishes to do so can", and arrange for Sean Penn to host their alduterous triggered wedding. Susan Sarandon and her hubby stand up in the wedding, and many famous Hollywood guests attend. Some even bring honored foreign guests, including Fidel Castro, and Vincente Fox. Saddam Hussein shows up with his new co-star of the View, Rosie O'Donnell.

Everyone is having a gay ole time, when the weight of such huge stars and political powers cause, what many have predicted to happen, California to break off from the rest of the Country and sink. Some will float to the top of the ocean, but alas, Sean Penn left his boat at home. They swim like crazy to reach the shore, but are all attacked and killed by stingrays. The End.

Remembering or Forgetting?

It goes without saying today is the 5th anniversary of 9/11. It goes without saying but we will say it anyway. Turn on the television and it is drowning in stories of survival and death. Today we all have taken time to remember. Does that mean that we have forgotten? I would like to share what I have not forgotten.

I have not forgotten the images of planes crashing. I have not forgotten the tears streaming from my eyes and others. I have not forgotten the lives lost. I have not forgotten the lines at the gas stations. I have not forgotten how for one day it seemed as though we all were friends who shared one goal. I have not forgotten the evil face of 9/11 that still remains at large. I have not forgotten those who have fought, still fight, or will fight for our freedom. I have not forgotten the harsh words that were exchanged with others, all over the same issue just different points of views. I have not forgotten the friends I have made out of these harsh words. I have not forgotten the lives that have been saved. I have not forgotten that Freedom is something we deserve to fight for even though we shouldn't have to. I have not forgotten that I love the U.S.

Always remember, never forget.

What to say?

This morning our dear friend Fred sent me a link he knew I would be interested in. He was right. The story seems like a sick sick plot someone made up. No way can it be true, right? Wrong.

There are soooo many things about this story that make it just wrong. 1. 11 year old girl gets sexually assaulted by 20 boys. 2. They say she wanted it 3. She had a crush on a 15 year old. 4. The 15 year old was also a girl 5. shall I continue???

This is just a very sad testament to what is going on in today's world. Kids aren't kids, these kids definitely weren't. Where are the parents? Hmm who know's, are they crying with disappointment and anger? Are they shooting up? Are they passed out drunk? Are they sleeping in sissies bed? Are they praying for their children and them selves?

The sick Hollywood type ending to this story is straight from the movie Kids. The 11 year old girl who was gang banged by 20 kids was born with HIV. Makes you want to puke doesn't it?

Fred asked what do we do? Lets start by making parents be parents, and kids be kids. How is society can a group of so many juveniles be involved in something like this? Values and morals were obviously not taught. If we can't teach these things is schools we better be damned sure people are teaching them at home.

Walk on the Wild Side

I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday. Its now back to work for most of us. I know you all are wondering how my trip to Lib Land went, so I shall share.

Saturday morning we packed up our 2007 sunset orange with black racing stripes hemi powered Dodge Charger..and headed north to Boulder, Colorado. We met up with our friend at the Boulder Cafe before we hit our hotel. To get to the cafe you have to walk through a strip of shops and street vendors. We passed harey krishna's , medieval dressed people (not performers just weirdo's), some hippies etc, all in one block. We then downed about 4 well needed martini's each when we hit the cafe. So far so good. We then walked the rest of the strip, where we eyed some chalk sidewalk art stating we should "Set John Mark Karr Free".

We met back up with everyone at a pool hall/bar later that evening. We ended up having to take the party to the roof top because the band they had playing was hideous and very very loud. I expected more from a guitar playing granola from Boulder. We then moved the party to a bar we found under a hotel. It was ok and mostly catered to the college kids.

The next day we woke up and decided to try and eat some breakfast. We went back down the strip, knowing there were several different eateries to choose from. We could not find one place to get normal breakfast. Really I am not kidding, no bacon and eggs anywhere. We ended up back at the Boulder Cafe for some breakfast cuisine. We then did some shopping and got ready for the wedding.

The wedding was in a beautiful spot up in the mountains with a gorgeous view. The weather was much nicer than the freezing day before. The flower girls passed out "programs" to all the guests and yamakas to the male attendees, stating "we are s'posed to give these to the boys but I don't know why". The Jewish ceremony was beautiful. Although the Rabi could have taken off her Oakley's during the ceremony, but then her tevo's would have looked out of place. Only in Boulder. We then headed down the mountain to the reception. The reception was more of the Mexican traditions and was as equally nice and the wedding. The best part was when the best man(grooms brother) gave his toast. "We didn't get along as children, he was busy playing varsity football while I was doing choreography to Tina Turner songs or co-chairing the prom committee". Later on the DJ dedicated a song to the best man, Tina Turner of course. At that time everyone surrounded the dance floor while the bestman showed us his choreography from yesteryear.

After the reception was over we headed to a bar from the night before. We were still dressed in our wedding gear, and looked a bit out of place amongst the grunge wear. We had a really tough time getting served, which seemed a bit odd to us. We left after only one drink. Someone commented on how odd it was that we all had money ready to spend, were dressed like we had money to spend, yet the college kids were the only ones getting service. I then realized in Boulder these kids probably are carrying around twice the cash we are.

All in all it was a beautiful weekend. Boulder is a beautiful place. It has to be the most liberal city with the smallest amount of minorities. The people were not at all friendly I though only republicans were supposed to be pompous a-holes. Its like they could sense our conservatism. Maybe I should have left the I hate hippies and Liberals Suck t-shirts at home.

The Labor Day of Love

Many will be enjoying Monday off, as this is a holiday weekend. Monday we will be celebrating Labor day. I would like to share with you how I will be celebrating my weekend.

I will be kicking off the weekend tonight with an Extreme Motocross show. Very cool and should be a lot of fun to watch if it doesn't get rained out. I will wake up in the morning to go get my nails done. I would say it has been oh about 2 years, since I last treated my self to human looking hands and feet. Sounds like a pretty exciting weekend doesn't it?? Wait here is where it gets good.

After I am doing getting pampered, I must say goodbye to my puppies and head north with my boyfriend.. TO BOULDER, Colorado aka the Berkley of the Rockies.. No I am not a day late on the Ramsey murder case, I am going to a wedding. This, however is not an ordinary wedding.

My boyfriend and the groom have been bff (sorry babe) since, well forever. The groom is a pretty big Liberal, who just received his PHD from, Yale or something like that. (big whoop right ; ) ) He is a really super nice guy and he loves to debate with my major republican boyfriend. He is Jewish and they love to debate religion as well, calling each other names they can only get away with with each other. He is marrying a super liberal "Hispanic" Catholic. She is however more liberal than Catholic. She is also a soon to be graduated doctor, and believes in the year 2006 that abortions are safer than giving birth. Lord help us..

So quick recap... Jewish/Catholic wedding in Boulder where a union of two wacko libs will become one.. Her family will all most likely faint at the realization that their little Catholic Hispanic daughter is marrying a white Jew. The Sunday wedding will start off with a small private Jewish ceremony, which few will witness, where the bride must sign a contract stating that any and all children will be raised Jewish. Perfect!!! The wedding ceremony will be mixed with both religions. The reception will be quite formal and will be featuring a Mariachi band. We will most likely be fiestaing (is that a word).. with the grooms major hot brother. I would warn my boyfriend that he may loose me except the brothers date will be a male. Oh and did I mention to top it all off it is in Boulder!!!!!!!!

What did I do to deserve this weekend??? Ah the things we do for the love of friends and family.
